Havana, September 11 (RHC)-- President Raúl Castro has called on the Cuban people to face the recovery following Hurricane Irma with the example of the historic leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro, who with his permanent faith in victory and strong will has taught us that nothing is impossible.

In the statement published in the Cuban daily newspaper Granma, the president said that the coming days will bring a lot of work and it is not a time to mourn, but to rebuild the devastation of the hurricane.

The head of state urged the organization, discipline and integration of all agencies, to move forward as in the past.  He asserted that the Revolution will not leave anyone homeless and measures have already been taken so that no family is abandoned to their fate.

He stressed that Heads of State and Government, political organizations and friends of solidarity movements with the Caribbean nation have expressed a willingness to help.

He also praised the unity of Cubans, solidarity among neighbors, discipline before the guidelines issued by the National Civil Defense General Staff and the professionalism of specialists of the Institute of Meteorology, as well as the immediacy of the media, and the support of mass organizations in these difficult circumstances.
