Havana, February 15 (RHC)-- Cuban deputy Adriana Perez called on lawmakers of the world to join the demand for the release of the Cuban anti-terrorist fighters still imprisoned in U.S. jails since 1998.

Perez, who is the wife of Gerardo Hernandez -- one of the four anti-terrorists held in U.S. Prisons -- reiterated the call that President Barack Obama should put an end to the injustice that has prevailed for over 15 years now.

A significant number of lawmakers back this noble cause, but it is not yet enough. We cannot patiently wait until our heroes serve their prison sentences and get out of jail, Perez said in a video conference attended by representatives of solidarity movements from Brazil, Venezuela and the United States.

Adriana Perez recalled that her husband, who was given a sentence of double life term plus 15 years, has no release date and insisted that the case is of political nature.

She also referred to the International Fact Finding Commission on the case to be held March 7th and 8th in London and to the 3rd Solidarity Campaign to take place June 4th to the 11th in Washington D.C. as two major events this year.

Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez are the names of the four anti-terrorist Cubans imprisoned in different US jails. They, along Rene Gonzalez, who already returned to Cuba after having served his sentence, were arrested in Miami after they monitored violent organizations that planned terrorist actions against Cuba.
