Havana, July 3 (RHC) – In Havana on Wednesday, a Cuban officials said that among its work priorities, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment will struggle against illegalities, crimes and corruption, without neglecting enemy subversion.

The organization’s Deputy Minister, Roberto Lopez, emphasised that to this end a plan of action has been devised, based on a diagnosis of major problems and difficulties, as well as of the hopes of U.S. imperialism to hinder any of these branches, including cooperation, so they have an impact on the development of the economy and of the country.

The matter was presented to the members of the Commission of International Relations of the National Assembly of the People's Power (Parliament) on Wednesday, and at the end of the meeting, the Deputy Minister told the press that the technical-professional and political training of officials, specialists and other workers of that ministry is essential.

He went into great detail about the importance of this other objective, in order to better address manifestations of illegalities, crimes and acts of corruption in foreign trade and foreign investment, fields in which compliance with existing rules, procedures and laws and the observance of discipline are also vital.

Lopez recalled that his organization has the responsibility of state control of those branches of the Cuban economy and cooperation, a task that demands having professionally, and politically, well trained men and women committed to the Revolution, since they participate in business meetings with foreign firms almost daily.
