As part of the natural rapprochement between Cuba and its nationals abroad, an important event to discuss ideas will take place in Havana at the end of this year.

The largest of the Antilles convened the fourth Conference The Nation and Emigration, in November, where hundreds of Cubans living in other latitudes will be present.

They will represent all those who emigrated, but keep emotional ties with their homeland, in order to contribute to the welfare of their families and the country.

Almost three decades after the celebration of the first of these meetings, the one convened for November is part of the Cuban government's efforts to deepen ties and dialogue with compatriots living abroad.

Coinciding in the desire to defend sovereignty and work for the development of the Caribbean archipelago, it is possible to meet in Havana to exchange points of view and analyze the lessons learned since 1978.

It was in that year when a decisive process of strengthening the ties between Cuba and the natives with permanent residence in other latitudes began.

Time has passed and the U.S. blockade has hindered those ties, but there is the conviction that the dialogue can be expanded.

And also joint projects in terms of the economy and progress in the localities.

According to information provided at the end of last year, the number of cooperation, business and investment projects presented by Cubans living abroad increased.

At the Havana International Fair 2022 edition, companies with the participation of Cuban emigrants were accredited, some of which received the Supplier-Customer Code issued by the Ministry of Foreign Trade.

This is not the only incorporation of these people to variants of local life beyond their family trips.

In fact, many of them contributed suggestions in the debate on the draft of the new Constitution and the Family Code, subsequently approved in a referendum.

The recent provisions adopted in the Greater Antilles in the migratory sphere, including the extension of the period of validity and the reduction of the cost of the passport, were nurtured with many of their indications.

Thus, the November meeting should result in proposals to broaden ties for the good of the nation.
