Eusebio Leal´s portrait by Guayasamin
Havana, September 16 (RHC)-- The 2021 pocket calendar of Radio Havana Cuba will be illustrated with a portrait of Havana city's Historian Eusebio Leal Spengler who died on July 31. The painting is the work by Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín.
The picture that inspired the portrait belongs to the Guayasamin's Foundation's Photos in Quito, from which it was sent to Radio Havana Cuba. The calendar will be printed, as in recent years in Madrid, thanks to the solidarity of the valued friend Gabriel Navarrete Martínez, President of the Spanish Association for Culture and International Cooperation, and also an Honorary Member of the Guayasamín Foundation.
The portrait will be exhibited at the Oswaldo Guayasamín House Museum headquarters, founded in the Historic Center of Havana by Fidel Castro, Eusebio Leal, and the Ecuadorian painter, on a date to be announced, pending on the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is intended to pay a well- deserved tribute to the Historian of Havana City, an appreciated friend of Commander Fidel Castro and the Latin-American painter.
