President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulates Cuban artists and intellectuals presented with Alejo Carpentier Medal

Havana, March 8 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Sunday congratulated a group of Cuban artists and intellectuals who were awarded the Alejo Carpentier Medal for their contributions to national culture.

Writing on his Twitter account, the president congratulated writers Nancy Morejon and Reinaldo Gonzalez, as well as essayists Victor Fowler and Enrique Ubieta.

He also praised the work of filmmaker Víctor Casaus, actors Osvaldo Doimeadios and Carlos Benito Padron and actresses Corina Mestre, Amada Morado and Diana Rosa Suarez.

Musicians David Alvarez and David Blanco were also presented with the award, for a total of 12 Cuban personalities honored with the Alejo Carpentier Medal granted by the Ministry of Culture to artists and intellectuals with long and fruitful professional lives, enriching and promoting national culture.
