Treatment Choice releases rock version of Silvio Rodríguez’ ‘El necio’

Havana, March 16 (RHC)-- The rock metal fusion band Treatment Choice has released a rock version of the tune ‘El necio,’ by singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez, on digital platforms.

Available on the band’s Telegram channel, and soon also on WeTransfer and Spotify, the single mixes Afro-Cuban percussion and string instruments. It features singer and leader of Bonus band Yanairis Fernández.

According to leader of Treatment Choice, guitarist Neiver Díaz, this new version is a dream come true, since for many years he wanted to do it as a special tribute to Silvio Rodríguez. He praised the collaboration of singer Yanairis Fernández, whom he described as one of the best exponents of rock music in today’s Cuba.

Also, a musical producer, Neiver Díaz produced the latest album of Treatment Choice entitled ‘Marcando la diferencia’, as well as those of the Cuban rock bands Rising Ravens and From the Graves.

The rock version of ‘El necio’, is the third single released by Treatment Choice over the past four months. Previously, they released Caribbean Rise, featuring the lead singer of the Surinamese rock band Asylum, and this past February, they released the single Catarsis.

‘El necio’ is included in Silvio Rodríguez’ album ‘Silvio’ from 1992.

Treatment Choice announced plans to make a music video for their rock version of the iconic tune.
