Adalberto Alvarez & Gilberto Santa Rosa

Havana, May 11 (RHC)-- Composer, arranger and band leader Adalberto Álvarez announced on Tuesday that Puerto Rican singer Gilberto Santa Rosa collaborates in a new album that he is working on entitled Segunda Vuelta.

The leader of Adalberto Álvarez y su Son said he is proud and honored to have Gilberto Santa Rosa featured in this new musical project.

Adalberto is better known as ‘el Caballero del Son’, while Gilberto Santa Rosa is popularly known as ‘El Caballero de la Salsa’.

In 2020, Adalberto Álvarez y su Son released their album ‘Son para un sonero. El Concierto’, celebrating 45 years of artistic life. It included footage of a concert held at Havana’s Karl Marx theatre.

During the concert, a total of 17 hits of the orchestra over 45 years were performed by invited Cuban and foreign soloists and groups. The concert ended with Puerto Rican Gilberto Santa Rosa himself signing a tune he dedicated to Adalberto entitled ‘Un son para el Caballero.’
