Havana, June 6 (RHC)-- Musicians with Havana’s Lyceum Mozartiano performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 9 in E♭ major, as part of the lyceum online program dedicated to the Austrian composer and pianist. It was written in 1777, when the composer was 21 years old.
The recital, available on YouTube, is part of the series Pianistas (Pianists) of the institution that includes also works by award-winning artists, students and professors from the Cuban University of the Arts (ISA).
As part of the series, internet users may listen to and enjoy emblematic pieces by Cuban, Latin Americana and European composers, representatives of different genres and styles, including baroque and contemporary sounds.
Due to the epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19, Havana’s Lyceum Mozartiano, like most cultural institutions in Cuba and around the world, has moved its activities to digital platforms. Still, it has developed a broad program that includes recitals on Thursdays and Saturdays.
