Failde Orchestra celebrates 9th anniversary with new proposals for Cuban music lovers
Havana, July 6 (RHC)-- Cuba’s record and musical editions Company EGREM has released the tune ‘Almendra’ by Orquesta Failde.
Written by Abelardito Valdés and arranged by flutist Ethiel Failde, leader of Orquesta Failde, it is included in the album ‘Omara 90’ with footage of the concert given by Omara Portuondo –Diva of Buena Vista Social Club-- and Orquesta Failde at Teatro Sausto, in Matanzas province without audience, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The concert and the new album are dedicated to Omara on her 90th birthday–celebrated on October 29th, 2020.
An award-winning artist, Omara Portuondo was recently presented with the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts, granted by the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sports to individuals or institutions that excel in artistic or cultural creation or to those that have provided valuable services to the promotion of the arts and culture or to conservation of artistic heritage.
