Alejandro Falcón pays tribute to Cuba's National Dance

Havana, September 7 (RHC)-- Danzon tunes, composed by young, talented Cuban pianist Alejandro Falcón, delight his followers and Cuban music lovers on social networks. The artist said the tunes constitute his personal tribute to danzon –designated Cuban National Dance genre.

Hailed as a "stellar young Cuban pianist", Alejandro Falcon has described as ‘excellent’ the performance of the piece 'Para danzonear' by the Japanese Quartet Chaka String, led by violinist Sayaka Katsyki, who performs various genres, including Cuban popular music, classical, Latin jazz and pop.

This way, followers of the Cuban artist can enjoy the piece 'Caribeña 2021', available on YouTube. It was recorded at Havana’s López Nussa Estudio. Featured artists include Alejandro Falcón’s band ‘Cubadentro’, as well as drummer Ruy López Nussa and bassist Arnulfo Guerra.

Among the recent releases there is also his danzon version of the iconic tune 'Ahora si sé que te quiero', by Cuban guitarist and composer José Antonio Rojas –better known as Ñico Rojas. Falcón said the piece, for which he had the collaboration of the Moisés Simons popular music school, constitutes his homage to Ñico Rojas on his 100th birthday anniversary –celebrated on August 3rd past.

'Maní con variaciones' was the first danzon piece composed by Alejandro Falcón, who together with his band ‘Cubadentro’, formed 12 years ago, has already recorded five albums that attest to his exceptional qualities as a young composer and arranger.
