Morenos del Changüí
Guantánamo, Oct. 10 (RHC)-- The group Morenos del Changüí, one of the greatest exponents of the genre is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a broad program on social networks from Guantánamo province.
Changüí was declared intangible heritage of the Cuban nation in 2018. The genre mixes Cuban traditional music with influences from Anglophone Caribbean, particularly babul.
With the hashtag #changüítradiciónyfolclore, the activities on Facebook and YouTube celebrate also the legacy of the founding director of Morenos del Changüí, the late Arsenio Rodríguez, one of the greatest all-time exponents of Cuba’s traditional music.
