Havana, May 2 (RHC)-- The president of Casa de las Americas, Abel Prieto, received Carolina Pérez Dattari, undersecretary of the Chilean Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, at the institution's headquarters in Havana on Tuesday.
"We talked about expanding exchanges between our countries and we were photographed next to a symbol: Violeta Parra's unfinished burlap," the Cuban writer posted on his Twitter account.
From Wednesday through Friday, the First International Congress on Cultural Heritage will be held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, to which delegations from the member countries of the Group of 77 and China are invited.
The event will focus on culture as a global public good and the social and economic dimension of culture.
On Thursday, the Meeting of Ministers of Culture of the member countries of this organization, which is currently led by the Caribbean island, will be held at the Convention Palace of this city.
In a previous organizational meeting, Ana Margarita Morejón, director of International Relations of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, said that the meeting is expected to adopt a final declaration aimed at concrete actions to promote culture and multilateral links.
