The National Museum of Decorative Arts presents "Flowers from Austria”

Havana, Jul 12 (RHC) The National Museum of Decorative Arts inaugurated the exhibition "Flowers from Austria", a sample of porcelains from the Viennese Manufacture with works made between the 18th and 19th centuries.

With the presence of the ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Cuba, Gabriele Méon-Tschurtz, the exhibition brings out and highlights the beauty of these porcelain pieces, especially the hand-made and hand-painted ones.

The exhibition "Flowers from Austria. Porcelains from the Vienna Manufactory in the MNAD collections" includes a production developed from 1718 to 1864, when the porcelain factory closed, however, this vast production influenced beyond its borders.

Plates, sets of dishes, amphorae and soup bowls are part of the exhibition that allows the public to approach the collection of great workmanship.

The beauty of these works, said the organizers, is undeniable and is considered an unequaled seal of the culture of Austria, birthplace of the genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose music was performed by Maestro Iván Valiente's orchestra.

On an upper floor of the museum, the attendees were shown exclusive creations that belonged to Queen Marie Antoinette of Austria, a distinguished personality of the nobility of that country in the 18th century.

The exhibition will be on display at the National Museum of Decorative Arts until October 10, 2024. (Source: Prensa Latina)
