Cuba's Camagüey Province to Hold Cantata in Homage to Fidel
Havana, Aug. 13 (RHC) The emblematic Plaza del Gallo in the central-eastern Cuban city of Camagüey was the stage this Monday for a special cantata to commemorate the 98th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016).
As part of the 21st edition of the Literary Crusade, an event organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association, the tribute took place at night in this space in the Historic Center, which brings together artists, writers and people in general.
On this occasion, the cantata focused on the figure of Fidel, who officially visited the province of Camagüey for the last time to celebrate the National Day of Rebellion on July 26, 1989.
The activity also paid tribute to the brothers Luis and Sergio Saíz, young revolutionaries assassinated on August 13, 1957 by the tyranny of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1958), who became a symbol of the artists of the new generations of Cubans (source: Prensa Latina).
