Havana, October 2 (RHC)-- Cuban cycling star Arlenis Sierra said goodbye to the 2021 season with another podium in the professional circuit, finishing second in the prestigious Giro de la Emilia (Italy).
For the 28-year-old Cuban, it was her seventh podium of the season, in which she also shone in the recent Road World Championship in Flanders (Belgium), with a historic fifth place, the best ever for the island's cycling in those events.
In the Emilia, the Cuban from A.R.Monex covered the 87 km between Ferrera and Bologna in 2h14.47, the same time as the winner, the Spanish champion, Mavi García (Ale Btc City Ljubljana), who attacked 500 meters from the finish line on the San Lucas hill and achieved a brilliant victory. Third was the Australian Rachel Neylan (Parkhotel Valkenburg).
