Mexico City, November 10 (PL) -- Cuba will debut against Brazil in baseball at the Cali-Valle 2021 Pan American Youth Games, according to the official schedule confirmed by Pan American Sports and the Pan American Confederation of the discipline.

The Cuban national team will see action in the first date of the tournament on Friday, November 26 against the Brazilians as part of Group B, which also includes the Nicaraguan and Venezuelan teams, the latter being the reigning U23 world champion.

Precisely, the Cuban team coached by Eriel Sanchez will play its second match against its Venezuelan counterpart, to end the qualifying round against the Nicaraguans on Sunday, November 28.

The main section A is made up of the host Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Argentina; in a baseball tournament scheduled until December 2 at the Edgar Rentería Stadium in Barranquilla.

According to the program released by the Pan American entities, the two best teams of each bracket will advance to the semifinals on December 1 and the winners of these duels will play the following day in the grand finale of the youth event.

The Cali-Valle champion will secure a direct berth in the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile in 2023.
