Cuban president greets Brazilian soccer teachers
Havana, May 14 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, met Friday with members of the Brazilian Coaches Union who are teaching a training course for soccer coaches in Cuba.
The meeting was attended by Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, deputy prime minister of the government; Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of Inder; and Oliet Rodríguez Méndez, head of the Cuban Football Association, among other sports authorities.
The Cuban president thanked the gesture of solidarity sponsored by the Landless Movement of Brazil and recognized its importance in the strategy of massifying this sport on the Island, a debt with the historical leadership of the Revolution, he said.
Vento Montiller defined the experience as enriching and thanked the Landless Movement for the cooperation, an expression of the bonds of friendship between our peoples.
Rodríguez Méndez expressed to JIT his satisfaction and recognition towards the Brazilian technicians, whose support is vital for the development of the so-called Sport of the Multitudes in Cuba.
