For Saturday's eighth round, Cuban Grandmaster (GM) Yasser Quesada (2568) will play with black pieces against GM Lance Henderson de la Fuente (2490) on the first board, and GM Luis Ernesto Quesada (2549) will play with white pieces against International Master Jordi Fluvia (2451).
On the third board, GM Isan Ortiz (2526) will face GM Oscar de La Riva (2424) and on the fourth table GM Omar Almeida (2523) with clear figures will play against Jose Maria Ribera (2228).
In other matches between Latin American countries, Chile takes on Romania, Peru competes against India 3, Brazil goes against Ukraine, Colombia faces Israel, Argentina clashes with Estonia.
Venezuela plays against Georgia, Paraguay against Guatemala, Uruguay against Panama, Mexico against South Korea, Ecuador against Angola, Bolivia against Madagascar, Nicaragua against Dominican Republic and Jamaica against Nigeria.
In other matches of the Saturday schedule, at the Four Points Sheraton Convention Center in Mahabalipuram, Armenia plays against India, the United States against India 2, Uzbekistan against Germany, Azerbaijan against Kazakhstan, Hungary against the Netherlands and France against Iran.
Armenia leads the open section of the 44th Chess Olympiad with 13 points, followed by Uzbekistan and in third place is India 2, both with 12 points but tied according to the Sonneborn-Berger coefficient.
In the women's section, the first set of India leads with 14 points followed by Ukraine and Armenia in third place.
For Latin America and the Caribbean, Brazil plays against France, Cuba against Austria, Colombia against Canada, Argentina against Algeria and Ecuador against Lithuania.
