Cuban Baseball Elite League
Havana, October 17 (PL) -- The First Elite League of Cuban Baseball is still without a starting date, due to the delay in the arrival of the teams' uniforms to the country.
In an official note, the National Directorate of the discipline explains that for last Saturday it was expected to receive another batch of clothing, but it did not arrive.
"It was announced for Saturday, and we coordinated the transfer of Cafetaleros to Isla de la Juventud with the option of starting on Tuesday, but that will not be the case. We will keep you informed," the statement said.
The tournament, which gathers in six teams the best baseball players playing in Cuba, should have started last week, but the delay in the arrival of the players' and umpires' uniforms prevented it from starting.
Executives of the company in charge, TeamMate, and the Cuban authorities are in communication, but there is still no definition of the date.
This delay may complicate the calendar of the event, which has the urgency of preceding the Caribbean Series, which must be attended by its champion at the beginning of next year.
