Havana, November 21 (RHC)-- Judoists Idalis Ortiz, in over 78 kilograms (kg), AndyIdalis, Granda and Silva lead teams to judo qualifiers Granda (+100 kg) and Ivan Silva (90 kg) lead Cuba's female and male teams that will compete next 26 and 27 at the Riu Plaza Hotel Convention Center in Panama City.

Yordanis Arencibia and Julio Alderete, heads of the technical collectives of the national teams (f and m), informed the Cuban News Agency (ACN) the 18 athletes who will seek tickets to the Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023.

Undoubtedly, the multi-Olympic (1-2-1) and world (2-2-4) medalist Idalis, Granda, recent world champion, and Silva, silver medalist in Baku 2018, will be the main podium cards, without ruling out others with results to discuss medals and get Central Caribbean places.

Alderete completed the team with Milko Obregón (60 kg), Orlando Polanco (66 kg), Magdiel Estrada (73 kg-fifteenth), Jorge Martínez (81 kg), Maikel Mkenzie (81 kg), Heriberto Rivero (100 kg) and Liester Cardona (100 kg).

According to the tournament's website, on the 26th the delegation will compete in 48, 52, 57 and 63 kg (f), and 60, 66 and 73 kg (m), while on the 27th they will compete in 70, 78 and over 78 kg (f), and 81, 90, 100 and over 100 kg (m).

The previous competition in which the Cubans participated was in October, at the World Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where the best results were for Granda (gold), Silva (fifth place -discussed bronze-) and Idalis (seventh).
