Havana, May 8 (JIT) - Holguín's sixth straight victory and Artemisa's new solo lead marked Sunday's 62nd National Baseball Series.

The Cachorros de Holguín overcame the Indios del Guaso 7x6, in a game of 21 hits for the winners.

For the Holguineros, Edilse Silva hit a home run and drove in three runs.

Artemisa defeated Ciego de Avila 8x6 and remained alone at the top of the event. This was helped by Pinar del Río's 14x7 loss to Matanzas.

As highlights of the day, the eighth rescue of Tunero closer Alberto Pablo Civil and the two home runs hit by veteran Fréderich Cepeda, which brought his total to 8 in the series.  

In other results of the day, the current champion Granma beat Industriales 2x0, La Isla 5x4 to Cienfuegos, Las Tunas 4x3 to Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus 9x7 to Mayabeque and Santiago de Cuba 4x3 to Camagüey.
