Havana, June 19 (JIT) - Cuba placed first among countries in the men's weightlifting Grand Prix in Havana, which concluded at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in this capital.

In the last competitive day of the competition, the men who closed the event did so in over 109 kg, with Iranian Ali Davoudi (203/238/441) standing out.

"We will be back in the future with other important events. Long live Cuba", said the president of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Mohammed Jalood at the closing ceremony.

The best athletes were the world record holder, the Ecuadorian Angie Palacio, in the 71 kg, and for the men, the Indonesian Rahma Abdullah, who won unobjectionably the 81 kg.
