Havana, March 8 (PL) - The president of the Cuban Sports Institute (INDER), Osvaldo Vento, congratulated this March 8 all his compatriots on the occasion of International Women's Day.

INDER is proud of what women athletes mean to Cuban sports, and thanks for their will to win," wrote the head of Cuban sports on the social network X.

The congratulation is accompanied by a photo with the women's 4×100 meters quartet champion in the last Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023.

It is also accompanied by a quote from Cuba's National Hero, José Martí, in which he says "when the cultured and virtuous woman anoints the work with the honey of her affection, the work is invincible".

Cuban sports show relevant achievements in the women's sector at all levels and has Olympic and/or world champions in disciplines as diverse as judo, canoeing and volleyball, just to mention a few.
