The evening, the first of its kind on the Island, will take place at the Ciudad Deportiva coliseum and will culminate the activities for the international day of that sport.

The Cuban federation Alberto Puig de la Barca recalled that the celebration will be dedicated to the world championship held in 1974 in the emblematic Havana facility.

He also assured that work is being done on the preparation of the poster with the aim of guaranteeing high-level fights, to achieve a spectacle at the level of previous editions and a celebration as important as the 50th anniversary of the universal event won by Cuba. .

"We are still making the details to define the fighters who will fight, but it is our intention that our main figures compete with men equally established in the elite," Puig explained.

According to Puig's words, it is very possible that figures like Julio Cesar la Cruz (92 kg) and Arlen López (80) could appear on the scene, two of the five Cuban boxers qualified for Paris-2024 and who will seek their third crowns. in the French capital.
