Alayo and Díaz
Paris, Aug 4 (PL) Cubans Noslen Diaz and Jorge Luis Alayo lost 1-2 today to Sweden's David Ahman and Jonathan Hellvig in the round of 16 of the men's beach volleyball tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and were eliminated.
Diaz and Alayo were beaten in extremis by the world ranking leaders, and finally lost 11-21, 28-26 and 11-15, in one hour of action.
In the quarterfinals, Ahman and Hellvig will face the winner of the match between Brazilians Evandro Goncalves and Arthur Diego, ninth in the world ranking, and Dutch Steven van de Velde and Matthew Immers, eighth.
