Havana, Aug 24 (RHC) - The 16-year-old Australian Gout Gout broke the record of his category sweeping his rivals in the 100m and many are wondering if he will be the new Usain Bolt.

Gout Gout, born in Australia but of South Sudanese parents, triumphed in the 100m event in his home country with an impressive lead and the video of his triumph has gone viral on social media.

In the images that have gone viral in recent hours, although dating from March of this year, the Oceanic athlete can be seen dominating from start to finish a 100m flat race, in which he set an impressive time of 10.29 seconds.

Most notably, Gout Gout is several lengths ahead of the second place runner in the race.

The way in which Gout Gout dominated the competition attracted the attention of fans and specialists in the sport, to the point that there was no shortage of comparisons with the legend of speed, the Jamaican Usain Bolt.

Another characteristic that makes Gout Gout similar to Usain Bolt is that the Australian is not only a specialist in the 100-meter dash, but also in the 200-meter dash, just like the Jamaican.

In fact, Gout Gout already holds the record in his category in Australia, with a time of 20.87 seconds. The specialized press highlighted that this time is just 0.30 seconds behind the one Bolt had at the age of 15.

“There's a 16-year-old sprinter in Queensland named Gout Gout, who if I've ever seen anyone run like Usain Bolt and have a build like him, he is,” noted Jane Flemming, president of Athletics Australia, according to the British newspaper Express.

Gout Gout was born on December 29, 2007 in the Australian city of Ipswich. His parents are from South Sudan.
