WBSC Premier 12

Havana, Sep 9 (PL) The Cuban baseball pre-selection for the Premier 12 tournament will be announced next Wednesday, the Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation (FCBS) announced.

The list of 60 athletes will be announced at a press conference in the Adolfo Luque hall of the Latin American Stadium in the capital, according to a note issued to the media by the Communications Department of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder).

Sponsored by the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), the event, in which the 12 top-ranked teams of the planet will participate, will begin on November 9 with the actions in Group A, to be played in the Mexican cities of Guadalajara and Tepic.

The teams of the United States, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Panama and Puerto Rico, in addition to the host country, have been placed in that group.

The Cuban team will be in section B, which starts on November 13, along with the local China Taipei, Australia, Dominican Republic and the champions of the first two editions: South Korea (2015) and Japan (2019).

According to the competition system, the teams will face each other in each key and the two best teams in each of them will qualify for the final phase to be held in Japan.
