Juventus vs PSV Eindhoven

Turin, Sept. 17 (PL) Juventus, as hosts at the Allianz Stadium, defeated PSV Eindhoven 3-1 today in the debut of the Champions League, which has a new format this season.

Thiago Motta's men in white, the reigning Italian Cup champions, took a lead in the 21st minute that they held throughout the match, when Turkey's Kenan Yildiz broke the deadlock thanks to an assist from Argentine Nico Gonzalez.

Just six minutes later, American Weston Mckennie struck a right-footed shot past the goalkeeper to increase the lead for the Dutch club coached by Peter Bosz.

A through ball from Serbia's Dusan Vlahovic in the second half was combined with a right-footed shot from Nico to complete the scoring, put the game to bed and end the visitors' slim hopes.

Ismael Saibari, already in stoppage time, saved the honor of the Farmers with a goal that narrowed the score.

In the other parallel challenge, Aston Villa, with goals from Youri Tielemans, Jacob Ramsey and Amadou Onana, defeated Young Boys 3-0 at the Stadion Wankdorf.

The next scheduled matches are Milan-Liverpool, Bayern-Dinamo Zagreb, Sporting Lisbon-Lille and Real Madrid-Stuttgart.
