Baseball team for Caribbean Cup announced

Havana, Oct 15 (PL) The Cuban baseball team that will participate in the Caribbean Cup to be held in the Bahamas from October 23 to 28 was announced today at the Latin American Stadium in Havana.

At a press conference at the Adolfo Luque Hall, the president of the Cuban Federation of this sport, Juan Reinaldo Pérez, announced the 22-player roster that will be led by Alexander Urquiola from Pinar del Río and whose goal is to defend the crown won in the last version of 2023.

The group, as announced in previous conferences, is made up of young talents who stood out in the Cuban championship and consists of two catchers, seven infielders, four outfielders, and nine pitchers.

Sponsored by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation, the tournament, which will be held at the Andre Rodgers National Stadium, will also include the representative teams of the Dominican Republic, Curacao, the US Virgin Islands, Saint Maarten, and the host country.

According to reports, the Confederation announced that the 2025 Caribbean Cup will be a qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games of Santo Domingo 2026.

Catchers: Yaidel Dario Guerra and Jorge Rojas.

Infielders: Denis Peña, Adrián Pérez, Leonardo Alarcón Pérez, Jean Lucas Baldoquín, Yulieski Remón, Euclides Pérez and Rodolexis Moreno.

Outfielders: Elicer Arrechavaleta, Carlos de la Tejera, Darian Palma and Francisco Martínez.

Pitchers: Rafael O. Perdomo, José Ignacio Bermúdez, Osdany Rodríguez, Eliander Bravo, Enyer Fernández, Albert Valladares, Randy Martínez, Yosiel Serrano and Sammy Benítez.

Management team: Alexander Urquiola, Eddy Cajigal (bench coach), Julio César Álvarez (assistant), Donald Duarte (assistant), José Ramón Riscart (pitching coach), Rogelio García (sports glory).
