Havana, Mar 4 (RHC) Six tickets to the Asuncion 2025 Junior Pan American Games were won by Cuban shooters who attended the first qualifying event in the Americas in the rifle and pistol modalities, which is being held in the Paraguayan city.

The quotas were won by Ormide Batista from Sancti Spíritus and Jonathan Gonzalez from Havana in the 10-meter air rifle event. Also in this modality among women, the Guantanamo's Erisnelki Cruz won it.

The other Antillean representative in this specialty, Paula Yanez, from Sancti Spíritus, could not qualify.

In the women's 10-meter air pistol, the two Cuban exponents, Melani Abreu from Cienfuegos and Adianet Samela from Las Tunas, won tickets.

For the men, Ernesto Gonzalez, also from Las Tunas, won, while Milton Santiesteban, from Camagüey, was left behind.

During the first Pan American qualifier of sport shooting, the shot events were also disputed, although they did not qualify for the youth continental competition.

In the case of the 25-meter pistol for women, Adianet López won a silver medal.

In the three-position 50-meter rifle, Erisnelki Cruz won the gold medal, and Yanez the bronze. In this same event, but among men, Jonathan Gonzalez won the title and Batista was behind.
