Lázaro Bruzón is the 3rd seeded with 2659 Elo and easily defeated the local Miguel Ángel González (2084) using black pieces in 37 moves of an English opening, while Lesly Martínez (2490) triumphed against another host, Imanol Segura (1978), using white pieces.
