Tampa, July 28 (RHC)-- In the United States, Florida Circuit Judge Mark Husley has been reassigned to another judicial division this week, pending a ruling, for having allegedly made racist and sexist comments to female staff.

Husley allegedly referred to a female staff attorney as a “b—h” and a “c—t”, according to the Tampa Bay Times, “after she complained to the chief judge that Hulsey was overusing staff attorneys” according to the charges filed by a panel of the state Judicial Qualifications Commission.

In 2011, at the beginning of his tenure on the bench in Jacksonville, Florida, he allegedly told an aide that Black people in the U.S. “should go get back on a ship and go back to Africa.”

The accusations include being “discourteous and condescending to staff,” having “expressed unnecessary criticism” of staff attorneys, and using “language inappropriate for your judicial office.”

Husley denied everything, saying: “These false allegations have been a poorly kept secret hanging over me like a cloud for months.  I am pleased the JQC has concluded its initial investigation, and that I will now have an opportunity to respond to them in a public forum.”

If found guilty, Judge Mark Husley could face sanctions, affecting his re-election bid later this year.
