Havana, November 29 (RHC-ACN)-- The President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe arrived in Havana early Tuesday morning to pay tribute to Fidel Castro --the man he considers as the leader of not only the Cuban Revolution, but also of all African peoples.

Upon his arrival at Havana's Jose Marti International Airport, Mugabe said he came to join with the Cuban people in their mourning of Fidel.

After expressing his condolences, the Zimbabwean head of state said Fidel is being mourned in all African communities and regions.

The African leader recalled Fidel's visit to Zimbabwe in 1986 to attend a summit of the Non-Aligned Movement. He remembers that during that visit Fidel promised to open a university in the Isle of Youth, in Cuba, to train young professionals form Zimbabwe and other African nations.

Mugabe said: “Fidel delivered on his promise. Hundreds of young Africans have been trained there, in addition to the thousands of Africans trained as doctors in Cuba colleges.”
