Washington, June 12 (RHC)-- In the United States, the attorneys general of Maryland and Washington, D.C., are suing President Donald Trump, accusing him of violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution by accepting millions of dollars in payments from foreign governments to his companies while serving as U.S. president.

The lawsuit centers on the Trump International Hotel in D.C., which is located near the White House.  Representatives of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Kuwait have all stayed at the hotel since Trump’s inauguration.

The lawsuit is the first of its kind and comes as Trump is also facing multiple investigations over his ties to Russia.
