London, June 17 (RHC)-- More protests are scheduled in London as hundreds of people have already gathered to rally in central London against the British government’s handling of the deadly Grenfell Tower fire, which killed at least 58 people while officials fear the death toll could rise significantly.

Protesters march through central London on Saturday to show their anger over May’s failure to handle the disaster, which destroyed the 27-story residential tower in west London on Wednesday.

The death toll from the fire is expected to rise as around 50 people are still missing, according to Britain's Press Association.

Meanwhile, the prime minster is expected to meet with victims and local residents at 10 Downing Street. The premier made the decision after she was met by enraged protesters, when she was meeting with locals at a church hall near the scene of the deadly blaze on Friday. Protesters were crying "Shame on you!" "Coward!" and “murderer!” and forced her to rush away under heavy police guard from the scene.

She has come under harsh criticism since Thursday when she visited and left the scene without talking to any of those who had been affected by the fire -- a move that unsealed anger and sparked protests.

In an effort to quell the anger, May promised on Saturday to support the victims.
