Caracas, August 25 (RHC)-- Venezuela has voiced its discontent with new migration restrictions imposed by Latin American countries against Venezuelan migrants.  The reaction comes as Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador, among others, have announced a variety of anti-migration restrictions targeting only Venezuelans.  The new rules include requesting a Humanitarian Visa and a certificate of non-criminal conduct as legal precondition to enter their countries.

Meanwhile, Ecuador has announced that a Visa will be mandatory in the next few days for all Venezuelans who come into the south American country.  Ecuador alleges that 7,000 Venezuelans entered its territory only last Friday.  It added that new restrictions are needed to be imposed.  
In response, Venezuelan senior officials accused the neighboring countries’ decision as politically motivated.  And observers blame the United States for pushing regional countries into banning Venezuelans.

On the streets, many fear that the restrictions could be imposed by further regional states. Braulio Matamoros a Venezuelan lawyer says migrating to Ecuador or Peru is no longer a good option as these restrictions contribute to the existing racism against Venezuelans in those countries.

As several governments in the Latin America hinder the entrance of Venezuelan migrants, Caracas accuses Washington of waging a worldwide Xenophobic policy against Venezuelans.
