San Juan, May 2 (RHC)-- An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook the southern part of the island of Puerto Rico on Saturday, shaking many in their beds, where some people still remain in shelters from earthquakes earlier this year.  There are reports of as many as three tremors hitting the sister Caribbean island this morning.

So far, no quake victims have been reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the shaking was felt in coastal cities like Guanica and Guayanilla, where hundreds of homes were destroyed by an earthquake in early January that killed one person and caused millions of dollars in damage.

Reports of damage continued to arrive in the early hours of Saturday morning, such as that of a second-story balcony that collapsed in the southern city of Ponce, spokeswoman Ines Rivera told The Associated Press.

A video of the Ponce Massacre Museum, which was severely damaged in this morning's quake, was shared on social networks.
