Geneva, March 24 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza announced that the Human Rights Council of the United Nations approved the resolution on the negative impact of the blockade imposed by the Government of the United States against Venezuela.

"Today, the resolution on the negative impact of unilateral sanctions on the enjoyment of human rights was approved in the UN Human Rights Council.  Its impact is so obvious that, by elementary ethics, the countries that voted against it should lose their seats in the Council," the Venezuelan foreign minister emphasized.

The resolution was approved in the Human Rights Council with the support of 30 countries, while 15 voted against, with two abstentions.

For his part, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, on his official Twitter account, expressed that the qualification of Venezuela as an unusual and extraordinary threat to the United States intends to justify the application of illegal unilateral coercive measures.

"Actions of systematic aggression, destabilization attempts and economic asphyxiation against this brother country must cease," insisted the Cuban foreign minister.

The Ombudsman asks in his complaint that several officials of the current Ecuadorian Executive also be linked to the case. | Photo: EFE
