Bogota, April 25 (RHC)-- The Institute for Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) has denounced the a yet another massacre in the municipality of Quibdó, located in the department of Chocó.  According to Indepaz, the event occurred in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Quibdó where three minors of 11, 12 and 17 years old were killed, the authorities still do not know the group responsible for the massacre.

Indepaz reports: "The 11 year old minor was injured with multiple stab wounds, gunshots and the amputation of his left hand.  He died on April 23 due to the severity of his wounds."

The Institute emphasizes that irregular groups operate in the Chocó region such as the National Liberation Army (ELN), the Gaitanista Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AGC), the Mexican Armed Forces (FAM) and another known as "Los Locos Yam."

With this denunciation, the South American country reaches 30 massacres in less than four months of this year -- with the departments of Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Nariño and Norte de Santander, where most crimes against the population take place.

In addition to the massacres, so far this year Colombia has has seen the murders of 52 social leaders and human rights defenders and 21 former combatants who signed the Peace Accords.  If this continues, Colombia is on the way to surpassing the 2020 figure, where 91 massacres were perpetrated in the territories.
