Mexico City, June 8 (RHC)-- The Puebla Group sent greetings to the progressive forces that support Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador for the electoral triumph this Sunday in the elections held in the country.

Through a Communiqué, the Group expressed its support for the result achieved by the Morena Party, which "remains as the first political force in Mexico, in federal and parliamentary elections in the country."

"We call on the progressive and center-left forces to move forward in transformative unity and face this new political period in Mexico, marked by the serious local and international consequences of Covid-19", refers the text.

They also reiterated that this action will only be possible with "the conviction to combat inequality, violence, and promote peace, democracy and social justice."

Sunday's Mexican elections also saw the vote for the total renewal of the Chamber of Deputies and for fifteen of the thirty-two governorships.
