Santo Domingo, August 1 (RHC)-- Social organizations of the Dominican Republic carried out this Saturday solidarity caravans that arrived at the border points of Jimaní and Dajabón to demand that Haiti be able to resolve its own internal problems.

The slogan of the day was "Let Haiti Decide" -- in rejection of the pretensions of the U.S. government and the Organization of American States (OAS) to get involved in Haiti's internal problems and give opinions on its social, economic and security policies.

The pronouncement was made after the recent mobilizations in Haiti on July 28, where social organizations rejected the interference attempts of the U.S. and international organizations in the nation.

For his part, Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry pledged to create the necessary conditions for the celebration of a transparent electoral process as soon as possible.

Henry announced that one of the priorities of his administration is to advance in a consensus between the majority of the political sectors and the civil society in order to achieve stability in Haiti.

The prime minister said that he has already held meetings with representatives of the economic sector and will continue the dialogue with political actors. "Discussions are difficult but constructive," he stressed.
