La Paz, August 8 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Luis Arce welcomed the announcement of the dismantling of the right-wing Lima Group after Peru's exit by sovereign decision of the newly installed government of that country.

La Paz also celebrated the intention of the new president, Pedro Castillo, to reintegrate the neighboring Andean nation to the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELACA).  The Bolivian president said on Twitter: "La Patria Grande advances towards a stage of integration based on respect and solidarity among peoples."

According to the Mexican newspaper La Jornada, in the middle of last week, Peruvian Foreign Minister Héctor Béjar announced the withdrawal of his country from the Lima Group for failing in its purpose of a non-interfering foreign policy defended by the government of President Pedro Castillo.

The new government of Castillo joined the previous withdrawal of Mexico, Argentina and Bolivia due to the veiled interference stance of the Group.  Peru's move was also applauded by the Secretary General of the Movement Towards Socialism, Evo Morales, who on this Twitter account, described the group as "an instrument of interference against popular governments."
