Relatives of the victims of the massacres that occurred in Bolivia during the de facto government of Jeanine Áñez demanded justice and punishment for those responsible.

La Paz, September 5 (RHC)-- Relatives of the victims of the massacres that occurred in Bolivia during the de facto government of Jeanine Áñez demanded justice and punishment for those responsible.

Relatives of those killed and injured during the police and military repressions in Sacaba and Senkata, which occurred in November 2019 during the de facto government of Jeanine Áñez in Bolivia, marched on Friday in La Paz, the capital, to demand that the Public Prosecutor's Office initiate criminal proceedings against those responsible for these massacres.

During the mobilization, the demonstrators, concentrated in front of the Attorney General's Office, carried signs and images of their loved ones.  The indignant people shouted "Justice!" while they burned dolls representing Añez, opposition leader Carlos Mesa, as well as some ministers of the interim government.

"After a year and nine months of investigation, there are only four former military commanders who have been tried for the deaths in Senkata and some police officers who have house arrest for the deaths in Sacaba," said human rights activist David Inca.
