Guatemala City, October 11 (RHC)-- In Guatemala, 126 people were found locked in an abandoned shipping container over the weekend. They were freed after local residents heard screaming and shouting from inside.
The majority of the people locked inside were Haitian asylum seekers who were hoping to make it to the United States border. Apparently, human traffickers abandoned them and left them to die in the locked container.
