Venezuela strengthens cooperation relations with Asean

In the framework of the IV Conference of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) held on Thursday in Caracas, it was agreed to strengthen cooperation and mutual exchange relations between the countries of the Asian integration organization and Venezuela.

Caracas, November 26 (RHC)-- In the framework of the IV Conference of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) held on Thursday in Caracas, it was agreed to strengthen cooperation and mutual exchange relations between the countries of the Asian integration organization and Venezuela.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Capaya Rodríguez, presided on the Venezuelan side, at PDVSA's Art Center "La Estancia."  The event hosted four countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Venezuela).

During the meeting, Capaya highlighted the opportunity that Venezuela has to work with the ambassadors of the member states while assuring that the Asean countries are very pleased with the work being carried out with the Latin American country in terms of cooperation and the strengthening of economic-productive relations.

"It is great to have the Asean meeting with these countries, in Venezuela, which are part of the largest economic organization in the world, where, on the one hand, the U.S. empire wants to hurt us, but on the other hand, Asean is gradually opening its doors to us in cooperation and benefit of the member countries of this Association, to consolidate a productive bloc," he said.

The event was propitious to present cultural exhibitions where the traditions and customs of the countries of Southeast Asia and Venezuela were exhibited, in addition to gastronomic tastings.
Diplomats and representatives of various ministries stressed the importance of this meeting to generate confidence and attract investments based on cooperative relations based on mutual respect.

Also participating for Venezuela were authorities from the Ministries of Housing and Habitat; Tourism; Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade; Industries and National Production; Housing and Habitat; the Foreign Trade Bank (Bancoex) and the Institute for Socialist Training and Education (Inces).
