President of Peru, Pedro Castillo, swore in this Sunday four new ministers of State in the areas of Energy and Mines, Agrarian Development, Interior and Transport and Communications.

Lima, May 23 (RHC)-- The President of Peru, Pedro Castillo, swore in this Sunday four new ministers of State in the areas of Energy and Mines, Agrarian Development, Interior and Transport and Communications.

In a ceremony held in the Golden Hall of the Government Palace, Castillo swore in Alessandra Gilda Herrera as the new Minister of Energy and Mines, replacing Carlos Palacios.

Likewise, he swore in Javier Fernando Arce Alvarado as head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, replacing Oscar Zea; and Dimitri Nicolas Senmanche Artola as head of the Ministry of Interior (Government), replacing Alfonso Chavarry.  In the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the new head of the office is Juan Mauro Barranzuela, who took over from Nicolás Bustamante Coronado.

The changes occurred at a time when two motions of censure against the now former ministers Palacios and Chávarry had been presented in Congress. There is still a request for interpellation against the Minister of Labor, Betssy Chávez.

Meanwhile, the former head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development, Oscar Zea, was immersed in several controversies.

The correspondent of teleSUR in Peru, Ramiro Angulo, pointed out in his Twitter account that with the four ministerial changes "the government seems to avoid the censures that were coming after the recent interpellations".

The confrontation between the Executive and the Congress does not cease and in a little more than 10 months, Castillo already has more than 50 ministers," said the journalist.
