Caracas, August 22 (RHC) -- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro congratulated the rank and file of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) for their massive participation in the popular assemblies to elect the new street chiefs.

"Congratulations to all the chiefs who have been elected by direct and secret vote by their community.  May God bless them and give them strength so that this leadership is transformed into happiness, prosperity for the community", highlighted President Maduro.

At the same time, the head of state emphasized that the party must continue consolidating the popular base to solve diverse socioeconomic problems, "the slogan is clear, to organize the popular power of the PSUV better and better and to add the neighbors", he added.

According to the Venezuelan President, more than 260,000 grassroots assemblies were installed throughout the country, where PSUV militants and sympathizers attended massively to elect street leaders.

During the day, the participation of the Party's youth, who were deployed in several states of the country, was highlighted.
