La Paz, December 29 (RHC)-- Six public buildings and the residence of the Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing, Edgar Montaño, were set on fire Wednesday by coup groups in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz following the apprehension of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho for the Coup d'Etat I case.

According to local media, the aggressors set fire to the departmental Prosecutor's Office and the Directorate of Support for the Prevention of Drug Use, Control of Illicit Trafficking of Controlled Substances and Excess Coca.

For his part, the head of Public Works publicly denounced that "the Unión Juvenil Cruceñista and people related to Camacho burned my home in Santa Cruz, attacking the integrity and safety of my family."

According to local media reports, the wall and the door of the house were set on fire while looters also ransacked the house and assaulted the neighbors who tried to control the flames in what constitutes the second aggression to their residence after another reported in 2019.

Likewise, attacks were registered against the offices of the Civic Registry Service (Sereci) and the National Tax Service (SIN). Likewise, firecrackers were thrown at the Palace of Justice.

The Cochabamba Departmental Prosecutor's Office was also set on fire, while three women and two men were arrested during the protests that took place in the vicinity at the time of the attack.

Meanwhile, the Santa Cruz governor is in detention awaiting the precautionary hearing in which it will be defined whether he executes his defense on bail or in detention after being charged for the acts of violence in 2019 that left more than thirty fatalities.
