Caracas, April 26 (RHC)-- The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting this Tuesday at the Miraflores Palace, with the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, to consolidate bilateral cooperation.

On his Twitter account, the Venezuelan leader expressed:  "Welcome Ralph!  St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela united in a single struggle, the development of two sister nations."  

The Venezuelan president said that this working meeting is conducive to strengthen ties of brotherhood and cooperation between brotherly peoples.

Venezuela and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have shared diplomatic relations for 42 years, which were consolidated on October 29, 1981 through the exchange of style notes between the governments.

Since then, the nations have maintained bilateral relations of political, social and cultural exchange, respect and solidarity.  As part of these relations, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an ally in the defense of Venezuela's sovereignty and share a common position in defense of integration.

Commander Hugo Chavez promoted cooperation in the energetic field through Petrocaribe, a fact that propitiated the two nations to strengthen their relationship.
